The Rockin’ John Henry Foundation is currently being developed and established for the documentation, maintenance and preservation of Rockin’ John’s historical and massive library of vinyl records and memorabilia. The Foundation plans to be an education tool for aspiring musicians and an inspiration for the younger generation by each year awarding one recipient, chosen by the Board of Directors to receive support in furthering their career in the form of a scholarship, equipment, recording sessions, promotions or whatever is deemed, by The Board, to be necessary to assist in continuing the legacy Rockin’ John Henry left for the perpetuation of the art of music predominately in the Rock & Roll/Blues genre, and it’s roots.

The Rockin’ John Henry Foundation is making steady progress.

The Board of Directors has been established and currently meets on a regular basis.Donations and contributions continue to come in and location negotiations are in play for the 2nd annual RJH Tribute Concert to be held in April 2006.Tulsa is ready and very supportive of a location to house and display Rockin’ John’s massive collection of records and memorabilia and we are contemplating one day housing a performance hall for scholarship recipients as well as local and name acts in this facility. Discussions continue for a possible RJH Oklahoma Rock ‘n Roll Hall of Fame. John was determined to recognize Oklahoma musicians on almost every radio show he did, and this would fulfill a dream he always had, that credit be paid where real credit is due. This facility would eventually be able to house the RJH Oklahoma Rock ‘n Roll Hall of Fame annual induction.Scholarship applications will be available on line at this site by January 2006. At this writing the criteria and standards for applicants is still being set up.

The scholarship winner will be announced at the 2nd annual Tribute Concert, after being determined by the Board of Directors. The cataloging of John’s collection is on-going and progressing. There’s much to be done, as anyone who knows of John’s collection will attest. The current priority is the compiling of audio for boxed sets of his radio shows over the years. We will update this site with progress on this project.

We have merchandise from the Tribute Concert available including:
T-shirts
Ball caps
8x10 photos of RJH
